Disability Plan/Long Term Disability (LTD)
The SUN Long Term Disability plan provides a disability benefit of 75% of regular earnings. The Disability Plan is available after 119 consecutive days of illness. Disability benefits will be provided based on medical evidence supporting that the SUN member cannot perform all of the duties of her job.
After two years of disability, the Long Term Disability Plan can continue disability benefits to age 65 if the medical evidence supports that the SUN member cannot work in any occupation.
The Long Term Disability Plan is cost shared by SUN members and Employers.
