Registered nurses in Alberta and Atlantic Canada are wearing white scrub tops or shirts to show pride in their profession, to protect their collective rights and draw attention to patient safety.
Nurses across Canada have choosen to Stand Out as a way of Standing Up for their profession and their patients.
The results: By simply wearing a white scrub top or shirt to work, patients and the public can easily identify who their RN, RPN or NP is, recognize the registered nurses' commitment to their profession, and recognize the value registered nurses bring to the healthcare team.
Call to Action: At the 2013 Bargaining Conference in November, SUN members clearly identified they are ready and willing to join this “Wear White” movement.
In November 2013, SUN launched our Wear White Campaign, encouraging SUN members to (when appropriate) wear a white scrub top, lab coat or dress shirt to work. Today, SUN calls upon you to demonstrate your pride in your profession, to support your collective rights, and to clearly be identified as an RNs, RPNs or NPs by embracing this powerful movement.
Stand Up for your profession; Stand Out from other healthcare providers and Assert Your Professional Presence.
