Changes to Labour Legislation

The rights and benefits the working people of Saskatchewan have achieved over the past 70 years are at risk. The Government of Saskatchewan has initiated a review of 15 pieces of legislation, claiming to modernize and improve our labour laws.  The same labour laws that have played a significant role in Saskatchewan’s economic prosperity based on fair and equitable rights for all.  These laws govern and protect the rights of unionized and non-unionized workers alike. These rights are at risk of being erased overnight.

A review of the legislation is not what is of concern to SUN – we support and encourage a process that is inclusive, backed by research and evidence, and provides adequate timelines for informed, meaningful and collaborative discussion. SUN has grave concerns about the negative impact on our members and the working people alike and the regression of labour laws that have built a strong and prosperous Saskatchewan.

The time is now to speak out against the proposed changes to Saskatchewan’s labour laws.  Learn more about the review and SUN’s concerns by visiting the links available on the right hand side.
