July 1-4, 2020
July 2, 2020
- On July 2, 2020, 10 new cases of COVID-19 were reported to the Saskatchewan public. Of these cases, four were reported to the government on July 1, and six were reported on July 2. Seven new cases are in the far north region, two are in the north and one is in Saskatoon.
- As of July 2:
- 80 cases are considered active.
- 701 people have recovered (an increase of 17 from June 30).
- six people are in hospital, with three in ICU.
- 55 cases are in healthcare workers.
- 67,243 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan.
- As of July 2:
- The province is reporting a 14th COVID-19-related death. The individual was in their 70s and a resident of the far north region.
- The travel advisory regarding non-essential travel between northern Alberta and northwest Saskatchewan has been rescinded. The initial advisory was issued on April 18, 2020, but has ended because the outbreak in northern Alberta is over. Read more.
- The federal government has extended its mandatory quarantine order for most people entering Canada. The order is extended until August 31, 2020, in an effort to help stop of the spread of COVID-19.
July 3, 2020
- On July 3, 2020, one new case of COVID-19 was reported in Saskatchewan, bringing the provincial case number to 796. The new case is in the far north region.
- As of July 3:
- 71 cases are considered active.
- 10 more people have recovered, for a total of 711 recoveries.
- four people are in hospital, with three in ICU.
- 55 cases are in healthcare workers.
- 67,791 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan.

July 5-11, 2020
July 6, 2020
- On July 6, 2020, nine new cases were reported in Saskatchewan, including two that were reported July 4, four reported on July 5 and three reported on July 6. Three of the cases are in the far north region, one is in the north, one is in the central region, two are in Saskatoon and two are in the south.
- As of July 6:
- 59 cases are considered active.
- there are 805 confirmed cases in Saskatchewan.
- four people are in hospital, with one in ICU.
- 21 more people have recovered, for 732 recoveries.
- 55 cases are in healthcare workers.
- 69,890 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan.
- As of July 6:
- As of 19:00 EST on July 5, 2020, there were 105,536 cases if COVID-19 in Canada. To date, 8,684 people have died after testing positive with the virus.
- Phase 4.2 of the Re-Open Saskatchewan plan begins today with indoor pools, indoor rinks, indoor sports and activities, and the performing arts allowed to reopen. Read the updated plan here.
- Also on July 6, restaurants and other licensed establishments are allowed to increase occupancy to a level that still allows staff and guests to maintain two metres of distance. VLTs, pool tables, dart boards and arcade games also reopen on July 6.
July 7, 2020
- The province has reported its 15th COVID-19-related death. This individual was a resident of the north region, and was in their 20s.
- On July 7, 2020, one new case of COVID-19 was reported in Saskatchewan, bringing the provincial total to 806 cases. This new case is a resident of the Saskatoon region who was tested out of province.
- As of July 7:
- 54 cases are considered active.
- five more people have recovered, for a total of 737 recoveries.
- four people are in hospital, and none are in ICU.

- Visitation guidelines for SHA facilities, long-term care homes, personal care homes and Ministry of Social Services group homes have been updated, effective July 7. Read more.
July 8, 2020
- On July 8, 2020, two new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Saskatchewan, bringing the provincial total to 808 cases. One case is in the Saskatoon region and one is in the north.
- As of July 8:
- 47 cases are considered active.
- nine more people have recovered, for a total of 746 recoveries.
- three people are in hospital, and none are in ICU.
- 55 cases are in healthcare workers.
- 70,875 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan.
- As of July 8:
- The SHA is reporting an increase in cases in the Prince Albert area, and is urging residents to follow public health measures for their own safety. As a result of the increased number of positive cases in the area, visitation will be restricted at Victoria Hospital and long-term care homes. Read more.
- Lloydminster and area residents are being warned of a possible COVID-19 transmission that may have occurred between June 27 and July 5 at the following locations:
- Wal-Mart
- Superstore
- Goodknight Inn
- Superlodge Motel
- Anyone who visited these locations during this time period is asked to monitor for symptoms and self-isolate and call 811 if symptoms present. Read more.
July 9, 2020
- As of July 8, 2020, the state of emergency in Saskatchewan has been further extended.
- On July 9, 2020, five new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Saskatchewan, bringing the provincial total to 813. Two new cases are in the south, one is in the Saskatoon region, one is in the far north and one is in the central region.
- As of July 9:
- 48 cases are considered active.
- four more people have recovered, for a total of 750 recoveries.
- five people are in hospital and one is in ICU.

- 71,757 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan.
- As of July 9:
- The Re-Open Saskatchewan plan has been updated to include guidelines for the following:
- Temporary food vendors;
- Racing and rodeos;
- Banquet and conference facilities;
- Car and trade shows;
- Seating areas (including drive-in theatres, public and farmers markets);
- Camping at provincial parks; and,
- Live performances inside restaurants and licensed establishments, plus public and farmers markets.

- The SHA is warning of an individual was working at the Canadian Brewhouse Stonebridge in Saskatoon and later tested positive for COVID-19. Anyone who attended the business during the following hours is asked to self-monitor for symptoms, and contact 811 if symptoms develop:

July 10, 2020
- On July 10, 2020, two new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Saskatchewan, bringing the provincial total to 815. The new cases are in the central region.

July 12-18, 2020
July 13, 2020
- On July 13, 2020, 31 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Saskatchewan. In addition, there were two cases reported on July 11 and 23 cases reported on July 12.
- July 11 - one new case in the Central region and one in the South.
- July 12 - 13 new cases in the South, five in the Saskatoon area, three in Central and two in the Regina area.
- July 13 - 27 new cases in the Central region, two in the Regina area, one in the Saskatoon area and one in the South.
- As of July 13:
- Of the 871 reported COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan, 90 are considered active.
- 57 cases are health care workers.
- A total of 766 people have recovered.
- Beginning July 14, COVID-19 testing will be available universally to anyone who requests it, regardless of whether they have symptoms or not. A referral for testing can be made by contacting HealthLine 811. SHA laboratories are currently processing approximately 600 tests per day, with capacity to perform upwards of 1,800 tests per day.
July 14, 2020
- The Government of Saskatchewan has identified five domestic flights that entered or left Saskatchewan with confirmed cases of COVID-19 on board. The passengers of the following flights are asked to self-monitor for symtoms for 14 days after arrival, and call 811 is COVID-19 symptoms develop:
- July 6: WestJet 296 from Calgary to Regina
- July 4: Air Canada 7947 from Toronto to Regina, rows 14 to 20
- June 23: Air Canada 1121 from Toronto to Saskatoon
- June 16: Air Canada 217 (originally 8737) from Saskatoon to Vancouver, rows 13 to 19
- June 11: WestJet 3370 from Calgary to Saskatoon, rows four to 10
- On July 14, 2020, five new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Saskatchewan, bringing the provincial total to 876. Three of the new cases are in the central region, one is in the Saskatoon region and one is in the Regina region.

July 16, 2020
- As of July 16, 2020 there were 42 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan - the largest one-day increase since the pandemic began

- The Saskatchewan Health Authority is asking the public for their support and cooperation in order to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus. As a result of an increased risk for COVID-19 in the south west and west central areas of Saskatchewan, visitation at Cypress Regional Hospital, as well as long-term care homes and personal care homes within close proximity to areas with an increased transmission of COVID-19, will be temporarily restricted.
Increased Risk of COVID-19 Transmission in Saskatchewan: The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is warning of an emergent situation in the southwest and west central areas of the province.

- On July 20, 2020 19 new cases were reported in Saskatchewan

- Since Sunday, July 19, 2020, 1,319 COVID-19 tests were performed, resulting in a total of 3,953 tests taking place over the past three days.

July 21, 2020

- Reopening Saskatchewan deatils:
- Starting July 21, modifications come into effect for:
- Drive-in theatres: reducing distance between vehicles to two metres, down from five metres.
- Retail guidelines, libraries and places of worship: reducing the length of time that returned or donated items must be held to 24 hours, down from 72 hours.
- Fitness facilities: permitting 24-hour access to fitness facilities, and ensuring registration of guests to facilitate contact tracing, if required.
- Campgrounds: laundry facilities are now able to open following new guidelines for safe operation.

- One person from the North who tested positive for COVID-19 has died. This person was in the 60-69 age range.

- On July 24, 2020, 27 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Saskatchwan
- 167 new cases of COVID19 were reported in Saskatchewan the week of July 18 – 24, 2020, bringing the total to 1,099 reported cases.

- 16 confirmed deaths (one death reported July 23, 2020)

- Areas of Elevated Activity for COVID-19:
- All patients coming from communities or health facilities that are being considered areas of elevated activity for COVID-19 will be placed on droplet/contact plus precautions for 14 days from their last exposure.
- This includes patients, residents and clients coming to outpatient settings, emergency departments, all new inpatient admissions, continuing care, EMS, home care and primary care.

- 31 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Saskatchewan on July 27, 2020 bringing the total to 1,178 cases.
- 42 cases were reported on July 26, 2020.

- 307 are considered active.
- 886 people have recovered.
- 14 in hospital.
- 61 cases are health care workers; however, the source of the infections may not be related to health care in all instances.
July 28, 2020
- On July 28, 2020, nine new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Saskatchewan, bringing the provincial total to 1,218 cases.
- As of July 28:
- 294 cases are considered active.
- 21 people have recovered, for a total of 907 recoveries.
- 13 people are in hospital, with five in ICU.
- 61 cases are in healthcare workers.
- 93,669 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan.
- As of July 28:
- A 17th person has died after testing positive for COVID-19 in Saskatchewan. This person was in the 70-79 age range and was from the South region.
July 29, 2020
- On July 29, 2020, 50 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Saskatchewan, bringing the provincial total to 1,268 cases. Of the new cases, 44 are in the north, three are in the south, two are in Regina and one is in the central region.
- As of July 29:
- 322 cases are considered active.
- 22 more people have recovered, for a total of 929 recoveries.
- 15 people are in hospital, with five in ICU.
- 61 cases are in healthcare workers.
- 95,024 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan, including 1,355 tests performed on July 28.
- As of July 29:
- Parking fees for physicians and SHA staff will resume On August 2, 2020.
July 30, 2020
- On July 30, 2020, 38 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Saskatchewan, bringing the provincial total to 1,306 cases. Of the new cases, 14 are in the central region, 12 are in the north, six are in the south, five are in Saskatoon and one is in the far north. Twenty-three of the 38 cases are in communal living settings across Saskatchewan.
- As of July 30:
- 304 cases are considered active.
- 55 more people have recovered, for a total of 984 recoveries.
- 14 people are in hospital, with five in ICU.
- 63 cases are in healthcare workers.
- 96,706 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan, with 1,682 tests performed on July 29.
- As of July 30:
- An 18th person has died in Saskatchewan after testing positive for COVID-19. This person was a resident of the south region and between the ages of 90-99.
- The SHA has announced that visitation will be limited in facilities in northeast Saskatchewan, including hospitals in Melfort, Tisdale and Nipawin, and Pineview Lodge in Nipawin, Parkland Place in Melfort and New Market Place in Tisdale. Read more.
- An outbreak has been declared at the Prairie Wind Estate personal care home in Herbert. An individual associated with the care home has tested positive for COVID-19. Staff and residents of the home are being tested for COVID-19, and visitor restrictions are in place to control and contain the virus. Read more.
July 31, 2020
- On July 31, 2020, 14 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Saskatchewan, and one case was removed from the count, bringing the provincial total to 1,319. Of the 14 cases, one is in the north, six are central, one is in Saskatoon and six are in the south region. Nine of the 14 new cases are in communal living settings across the province. The case that was removed was found to be an out-of-province resident who will be counted in their home province.
- As of July 31:
- 293 cases are considered active.
- 24 more people have recovered, for a total of 1,008 recoveries.
- 15 people are in hospital, with six in ICU.
