Establishing a network of knowledge is key to ensuring Local OH&S Representatives have the skills and knowledge required to assist and advocate for the safety of their colleagues at work and encouraging OH&S Representatives to take more active roles in promoting health and safety initiatives.

This half-day workshop, designed for Local OH&S Representatives, will focus on providing participants with valuable tools and resources to help them deal with OH&S issues and make their workplaces safe and healthy.

During this session, we will take a look at:

• Defining leadership roles within SUN
• Describing OH&S
• Clarifying Roles & Responsibilities
• Building a Local OH&S Process - Tips & Tools

And more! 

WHO: 

This workshop is designed for Local OH&S Representatives or designate. Additional Local Executive members may attend as locally funded or unfunded members.

WHEN:

WEDNESDAY, MAY 18
Session A: 13:00-16:00

THURSDAY, MAY 19
Session B: 09:00-12:00

WHERE:

This virtual workshop will be hosted on Zoom. Information to access the sessions will be provided to registered members two days in advance of a scheduled session.

Workshop materials will be mailed to registrants the week prior to the workshop.

FUNDING:

Funding from SUN Provincial is available to attend one of the above-noted session times; funding will be assigned to eligible Local OH&S Representatives or designates only. 

Provincially-funded seats are limited to 50 seats between the two sessions and will be determined by random draw. For this virtual event, provincial funding will be limited to wages as per Membership Policy 026-M-2007; applicable for only one session.

To be eligible for the funding draw, members must select the "Requesting Provincial Funding" option and register by 12:00 on May 4, 2022.

Locally funded or unfunded members are welcome; please register by the deadline noted above to receive your workshop materials in advance of your scheduled session.
