All awards are managed by the Educational Institutions as per the criteria set out by the SUN Memorial Scholarship Fund trustees. The trustees are SUN's First and Second Vice-Presidents, SUN Local 105 President and two members of the Fockler family.
Awards are subject to change following negotiations of the Terms or Reference with the Educational Institutions or changes to Canada Revenue Agency requirements.
SUN Trust Award - University of Saskatchewan ($1,500)
- Open to students entering 2nd or 3rd year of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program.
- Selection will be based on financial need (75% weighting) and academic achievement (25%weighting), as determined by the Award Committee.
- Recipient awarded by a Committee determined by the Dean, College of Nursing.

SUN Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing Memorial Award ($1,500)
- Open to Saskatchewan Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program, Year 1 or Year 2 students who are enrolled full-time at any location where the program is delivered.
- Selection will be based on Financial Need (75% weighting), Academic Achievement (25% weighting).
- Award selection by Saskatchewan Polytechnic Donor and Alumni Relations Office.

SUN Psychiatric Nursing Memorial Award ($1,500)
- Open to Psychiatric Nursing Diploma program, Year 2 students who are enrolled full-time at Saskatchewan Polytechnic Regina campus.
- Selection will be based on: Financial Need (75% weighting), Academic Achievement (25% weighting).
- Award selection by Saskatchewan Polytechnic Donor and Alumni Relations Office.

SUN/CFNU Scholarship ($1,000)
In 2008, the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU) and the Saskatchewan Union of Nurses (SUN) partnered to create a scholarship for Saskatchewan students, who are the children of SUN members, wishing to further their education in the nursing profession.
As a result, a scholarship with a value of $1,000 was developed to be awarded annually.
Who is eligible to apply for the scholarship?
Those who may apply must be:
- a 3rd or 4th year students enrolled in a registered nursing education program in Saskatchewan; and
- preference will be given to a child of a SUN member.

Do I need to send a transcript of my marks?
While the emphasis is based on need as opposed to academic excellence, a transcript of your marks is required to verify completion of your 2nd or 3rd year of registered nursing education program in Saskatchewan.
When is the application deadline?
The application deadline is November 30th each year.
When will I be notified?
The scholarship recipient will be informed no later than December 31st of the application year.
How often can I apply?
You can apply once a year, until you no longer meet the scholarship criteria.
