In Canada, CNSs have experienced uneven and, at times, turbulent times in efforts to establish, sustain and grow the role and optimize their impact. We will report on a study of the CNS workforce in BC to describe current state, insights from senior leaders, and policy recommendations to strengthen the CNS role as high impact leaders of clinical care, systems transformation, advancement of nursing practice, and evaluation and research.
