Members may recall AIMS, the SHA’s Administrative Information Management System, designed to integrate and centralize up to 80 different health systems’ human resources needs. AIMS streamlines the functions of payroll, staff scheduling, finance, and supply management all into one program.

After shelving the program in 2022, the SHA has confirmed this morning that AIMS will relaunch today, Monday, June 24, 2024. The initial launch will be limited to pay slips, timecards and postings and only for specific areas; scheduling is expected to launch soon.

AIMS has had implementation problems in past years, and we want to assure members we have been in contact with the SHA senior management team and have expressed our concerns about its functionality and its ability to adhere to the Collective Agreement. This includes current practices and working conditions that should not be changing due to the implementation of AIMS.

SUN has been in contact with its legal counsel and is currently looking at its options to ensure our members rights are upheld throughout the AIMS implementation process.
