The Nominations Committee, in accordance with Bylaw 4.23, hereby calls for and issues a Nomination Form, and requests each of the Locals and individual members to consider and submit nominations of suitable candidates from the membership of the Union for election.

The following position will be elected in 2026:

  • Nominations Committee – one (1) vacant position

One member for the Nominations Committee is to be:

  1. elected for a one (1) year term (Bylaw 4.27),

  2. nominees shall be from the general membership (Bylaw 4.07), and

  3. in accordance with Bylaw 8.16

In the absence of nominees for a position, nominations shall be accepted at an Annual Meeting. Nominations shall be made with satisfactory proof in writing that the consent of the nominee to stand for election has been obtained. (Bylaw 4.15)

Each SUN Local is encouraged upon communication of this Call for Nominations, to hold a meeting of the Local’s membership for the purpose of considering and nominating candidates.

In accordance with Bylaw 4.09, each nomination shall be on an official Nomination Form with the consent, in writing, of the nominee stating acceptance of office if elected.

Locals and members should note that the deadline for submitting nominations to the Regina SUN office is 1200 hours, February 10, 2026. Nominations received after the deadline of 1200 hours, February 10, 2026 will not be accepted.

Locals and members should also note that they can nominate SUN members other than those from their own Local as long as the basic rules of nominations are followed. For example, members of the Local in North West 5 could nominate a SUN member from the Local of North West 2 as a Network Representative for their particular network.

PLEASE SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WITH THE NOMINATION FORMS (Membership Policy 023-M-2007). If a photo is requested, photo must be submitted by the nominee. A faxed photo will not be accepted.

  1. Committee Nominees
    a) Please submit a position statement of a maximum of 150 words.

Editing of statements will not be done by SUN staff or Nominations Committee. If statement exceeds the maximum word limit, the additional words will not be printed (Membership Policy 023-M-2007).

In your position statement, consider including information regarding place of employment, union involvement and/or why you are interested in allowing your name to stand for election to the Board of Directors or Network Lead.

The Ticket of Nominations will be sent February 13, 2026 (Bylaw 4.11) and will be considered the formal announcement of nominees. Electronic voting information will be sent to all members four (4) weeks prior to the commencement of the Annual Meeting. (Bylaw 4.13)
