About the "Not Myself Today" Campaign

With 500,000 people missing work each day due to mental illness, mental health is an issue that we can no longer ignore.

In January, a major step forward was taken with the launch of a National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety, which promotes good mental health and prevents psychological harm in the workplace. This is an important start.

Now, the work to make real and lasting change begins. We need to get more and more companies on board and taking action to support mental health in the workplace. This is exactly what our next campaign will focus on.

The Not Myself Today campaign was created to proactively deal with our mental health. Every one of us has had a day when we don’t feel like ourselves. Now, imagine living with those feelings not just one day, but many days – and the shame, discrimination and lack of treatment and support that goes with it. This is especially critical at work – where so many of us spend so many hours a day.

The Not Myself Today campaign is designed to educate and engage Canadians on the issues of mental health in the workplace throughout the month of May and culminates in a national Not Myself Day @ Work on June 6.
