In July 2020, SUN was advised that the SHA had created an Effective Staffing Strategy Committee to review requests for human resource needs to support COVID-19 services throughout the SHA. As a result, temporary positions are being created, approved, and posted in areas that provide COVID-19 related services such as testing and assessment, and contact tracing; as well as additional positions in some cohorted long term care facilities.
SUN has been advised that the SHA will provide the Union with information every two weeks regarding the Effective Staffing Strategy approved positions. All other details related to the temporary positions will be distributed to the locals.
Locals should ensure they have the following details:
- The number of temporary positions created including the FTE and location
- A copy of the posting for each position identified
- A copy of the Master Schedule covering each position
- A copy of the applicable Job Description for each position.
