[May 11, 2020] This National Nursing Week, I would like to thank and celebrate each and every one of you: Saskatchewan’s more than 10,000 Registered nurses (RNs), Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPNs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs).

The work you all do to keep Saskatchewan patients healthy and safe, and our health system moving forward is so important - we couldn’t do it without you.

Not just during these difficult and unprecedented times of the COVID-19 pandemic, but every single day.

You are there for all of us through our most joyful and difficult moments - from the day we enter this world, until the day we leave.

You face every challenge head-on with kindness, compassion, and determination.

Your knowledge and expertise make a difference along every step of a patient’s journey through the health system.

And during this pandemic, it is all of you who are fearlessly stepping forward to face COVID-19 head-on -- you are the true frontline, and alongside your colleagues, you are all heroes.

Thank you for never giving up on Saskatchewan’s patients - your patients. Happy Nursing Week

In solidarity
