Establishing a network of knowledge is key to ensuring Local OH&S Representatives have the skills and knowledge required to assist and advocate for the safety of their colleagues at work. This network helps encourage OH&S Representatives to take more active roles in promoting health and safety initiatives.

This half-day workshop, designed for Local OH&S Representatives, will focus on providing participants with valuable tools and resources to help them deal with OH&S issues and make their workplaces safe and healthy. During this session we will look at:

NEW - SUN’s education program is going virtual! As we continue to navigate this “new normal” under COVID-19, education for our members remains a top priority for SUN. To ensure members continue to receive the tools and resources they need to safely practice and to advocate for one another, the OHS Representative Workshop has been adapted to be delivered through SUN’s Virtual Event Space powered by EventMobi. All members need to engage in the session is a computer, tablet or smartphone with sound and an internet connection; the virtual event space will provide you with the opportunity to connect with your facilitators by asking your questions and engaging in live polls/surveys.

Workshop materials will be mailed to registrants the week prior to the workshop.

FUNDING:







 

Provincially-funded seats are limited to 50 seats between the four sessions and will be determined by random draw. For this virtual event, provincial funding will be limited to wages as per Membership Policy 026-M-2007.

Provincial funding will be assigned to eligible Local OH&S Representatives or designates only; preference will be given to OH&S Representatives identified in SUN's database.

To be eligible for the funding draw, members must register by 1200 hours on August 26, 2020; selected members will be notified via email by August 28, 2020.
