Hundreds of Saskatchewan’s registered nurses, nursing students and public are set to rally on October 25 over the noon hour in Regina’s Wascana Park.

The planned rally is in response to inadequate action on nursing shortages that continue to grow unabated. Further impetus for the rally stems from the startling findings of a recent survey of more than 1,600 of the province’s registered nurses, which lift the veil on a health system riddled with patient safety concerns and declining quality of care.

WHEN: Wednesday, October 25, 2023 – Noon CST

WHERE: The Wascana Park Bandstand – Located in Wascana Centre on the north shore of Wascana Lake between Albert Street and Wascana Drive.

Rally participants will walk the following route, beginning at 11:30 a.m. CST:

  • Walk along Legislative Drive, past the Saskatchewan Legislative Building (right up to the steps), towards Albert Street.
  • Head north across the Albert Street bridge, cutting right into the Wascana Centre at Speaker’s Corner.
  • Walk along the Wascana Lake shoreline path, ending at the Bandstand.
