June 25, 2015 (Regina, SK) – The Regina Board of Education (Regina Public Schools) and the Saskatchewan Union of Nurses (SUN) have signed a new collective agreement.

“This is the culmination of a lot of co-operation between SUN’s and Regina Public Schools’ negotiating committees, and we are very pleased with the result,” says Denise Dick, SUN First Vice President. “We negotiated this in a day and it reflects the positive outcomes that are achievable when both parties take a collaborative approach to finding solutions.”

“We used a focused approach to the bargaining issues,” said Katherine Gagne, Chairperson, Regina Board of Education. “Starting from a good working relationship allowed both teams to put their priorities on the table and build towards a meaningful agreement.”

The new agreement, which will expire August 31, 2016, provides for a 5.25% wage increase over three years. Wage increases negotiated for 2014 and 2015 will be retroactive for current employees. The collective agreement covers Registered Nurses and Registered Psychiatric Nurses working for Regina Public Schools.
