A reminder to all SUN Members: As of July 11, the Government of Saskatchewan revoked the State of Emergency and removed all Public Health Orders. As a result, the Letter of Understanding between the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) and all affiliate healthcare unions expired 28 years later. As of August 8, 2021, the terms of the temporary Letter of Understanding are no longer in effect.
SUN members should be aware the following provisions no longer apply:
- Labour Pools no longer exist. No SUN members should be assigned to any Labour Pool.
- Redeployment of an employee through the Labour Pool no longer exists. All redeployed SUN members should be back in their home units as of August 8, 2021.
- Cohorting of employees no longer exists. No SUN member should be prevented from working in different facilitates.
- Successful applicants to vacant positions no longer can have delayed start dates. No SUN member should have a delayed start date beyond the period identified in the collective agreement.
- Supplemental workforce contractors including Out of Scope workers, health system partners, students, volunteers or other personnel providing assistance may no longer be utilized.
