Court of Queen’s Bench Justice Dennis Ball issued his decision today in the Charter Challenge launched by the SFL, and three Intervenor unions, SEIU-West, CUPE, and the Saskatchewan Union of Nurses (SUN).
“Without having had the opportunity to review the decision at great length, SUN is pleased with Justice Ball’s decision concerning The Public Services Essential Services Act”, commented Rosalee Longmoore, SUN President.
“In light of the decision, SUN is considering what, if any, implications there are in regards to the negotiation of essential services agreements with the Health Regions and Affiliates, added Longmoore stating “it is a very thorough and lengthy decision that will require some in-depth analysis.”
SUN, in consultation with their legal counsel, will be reviewing Justice Ball’s decision in detail in the coming weeks to determine the next step in the process.
