SUN is advocating for a mandatory masking policy in Saskatchewan as the province grapples with a growing threat of increased community transmission of COVID-19.

We must be vigilant now more than ever. Canada is on the cusp of a second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic along with annual flu season, and new case numbers here at home in Saskatchewan, and across the country, are steadily on the rise.

When community spread of COVID-19 is kept low, this decreases the risk of exposure to our country’s most vulnerable. Wearing a mask, social distancing, staying home when you are sick, and limiting the size of social gatherings and close connections are acts of community and mutual respect for one another.

It’s a “we” thing, not a “me” thing.
