The Saskatchewan Union of Nurses (SUN) and All Nations Healing Hospital have achieved a tentative two-year collective agreement in less than one day of bargaining. Negotiations began in Fort Qu’Appelle on Monday October 22, 2012 at 10am with the parties reaching a tentative agreement by 7pm that same day.
"We are very pleased with how quickly we reached this tentative agreement," says SUN President, Rosalee Longmoore. "This is another excellent example of how collective bargaining in Saskatchewan is effectively and efficiently working to meet the needs of both employers and unions."
26 SUN members work under the SUN/All Nations Healing Hospital Collective Agreement. The Memorandum of Settlement will now be taken to these members for ratification within the coming weeks.
The All Nations Healing Hospital is an integrated health care facility servicing Fort Qu’Appelle and its surrounding communities. It is owned and operated by the File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council and Touchwood Agency Tribal Council.
SUN represents almost 9,000 Registered Nurses (RNs), Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPNs), Registered Nurse(Nurse Practitioner)s (RN(NP)s) and graduates in the province.
