In September 2021, the Government of Saskatchewan issued the emergency order to address the fourth wave of COVID-19. This reinstated the Temporary Letter of Understanding that was first signed in April 2020. The Letter of Understanding was intended to address staffing issues and health care needs related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
