The holidays are a time of joy, giving, and spending time with family and friends. However, as you well know, some people in Saskatchewan are struggling to stay fed, keep warm, and make ends meet. Many of them are your neighbours, acquaintances, or patients. Every day on my way to work, I see long lines to receive help from the few services that might help get them through another day.
This year, I've decided to donate warm clothing, including coats, hats, gloves, scarves and socks, to help those in need at Regina's North Central Family Centre and AIDs Program South Saskatchewan. Both are just down the road from the Regina SUN office and supporting these organizations will help some of the province's most vulnerable people.
With that, I ask my fellow SUN members: "What does need look like in your community?" What can you do to help make a difference in the lives of those in need? Let's spread the warmth this Holiday Season!
Food hampers, used clothing, and volunteering are great ways to give back when it's needed most. Let's make our province an even better place to live.
As always, Thank You, Saskatchewan's registered nurses, for showing up every day to care for those in need.
I wish you the happiest of holidays, as well as peace, love, and joy for you and yours,
Tracy Zambory, RN
SUN President
